Worcester Wolves beat SAMG Verve Scottish Rocks for the first time in their history to solidify their place in the final play-off position.

The Wolves fourth win in a row was paced by 27 points from James Life and a tripe double of 19 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists from Chuck Evans. Anthony Paez also hit 23 points.

Wolves were on top from the opening as a 4-0 start to the match soon became a 10-4 advantage. Rocks showed early form too though as they ended the first quarter 22-23 in front.

A Life to Paez pass and dunk sparked a 5-0 beginning to the second quarter as Wolves went ahead for good. The lead eventually stretching out to 50-40 before Rocks scored the final four points of the half to trail 50-44 at the interval.

The home time gradually extended their advantage throughout the third quarter making the most of their free throws and possession from technical fouls on the Rocks. Heading into the final quarter they led 77-66.

Rocks could never get within 10 points during the fourth quarter and as their players began to foul out Wolves’ job became much easier as they cruised to a 108-92 win.
