The SAMG Verve Scottish Rocks moved themselves into third place in the BBL Championship table after a convincing 67-89 victory over the Marshall MK Lions at the Bletchley Leisure Centre on Friday night.

The Rocks took control early with a 7-0 burst to lead 8-11. The Lions stayed in touch with their visitors through into the second quarter to trail by six points at 22-28.

The Rocks broke the game open with a 13-0 tear to take the score out to 22-41, and lead 31-55 at the half.

In the second half, the Lions valiantly attempted to close the deficit, but could not get close enough to worry their visitors as the Rocks ran out comfortable winners.

Maurice Hampton led all scorers in the game with 25 points for the Rocks, while Robert Youngblood led the Lions scoring with 15.
