Newcastle Eagles moved four points clear at the top of the BBL Championship table thanks to a 94-82 victory over the Worcester Wolves at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle.

The Eagles took control of the game from the early stages with separate runs of 8-0 and 12-3 in the opening period to take the score out 32-14. The second quarter saw the debut of the Eagles' new signing Steve Leven, as he scored 19 points in the quarter, including all eight points in an 8-2 Eagles burst to take the score out to 58-35.

The Eagles enjoyed their biggest lead of the game midway through the third period at 66-41. The Wolves tried valiantly to get themselves back into the game, but could not close the deficit sufficiently as the Eagles ran out comfortable winners.

Leven led all scorers with 21 points for the Eagles, while Antony Paez led the Wolves scoring with 19 points.
