 The Marshall MK Lions secured a second comprehensive victory of the season over the Birmingham Panthers as they beat them by 53-85 in the West Midlands, shaking off Friday's heavy defeat to the SAMG Verve Scottish Rocks and consolidating their position in second place in the BBL Championship table.

The Lions edged ahead in the first stanza as they broke a 4-4 tie with 10 unanswered points, including eight from the charity stripe. The Panthers got back into the game and were down just 16-23 after the first ten minutes, yet the visitors broke the game open with a dominant second period. They began with the first 10 points, with 4 from Peter Heizer and 4 from Yorick Williams. Heizer was instrumental later on as they stretched the lead with the last 12 points of the first half, the German had a further 4 of those.

The game looked beyond the Panthers at 28-51 at the break, and late in the third quarter back-to-back threes from Yorick Williams capped an 8-0 burst and gave the Lions an insurmountable 39-72 lead.

They subsequently eased their way to the victory as every player on the roster got on the scoresheet, with five making it into double figures. Mike New led the scoring with 17, whilst Heizer had 14, and Williams 12. Adam Williams was the only Panther in double figures with 17 points.
