Newcastle Eagles all but secured their place in the BBL Trophy Semi Final draw with a 89-73 success over an injury ravaged Everton Tigers side.
After a close first quarter the Eagles rattled off 6 points without reply to open up a double digit advantage at 37-27 midway through the second stanza. Tigers trimmed the lead back to 7 at the break but Eagles opened up the third quarter with 7 straight points to put significant daylight between the teams at 54-40.
