The Sheffield Sharks moved into joint third in the BBL Championship table, whilst condemning the SAMG Verve Scottish Rocks to their first defeat in five games, with an 81-85 win at the Braehead Arena.

Former Shark Sterling Davis led the scoring with 25 points in vain. The Sharks spread the scoring and were paced by Randy George's 18, with Justice Graham on 15.

The Sharks dominated the opening stages and instantly took a lead which they held for the majority of the game; they led 13-23 after the first quarter.

The lead was extended in the second as a Justice Graham triple capped a 13-2 burst that made the score 31-50, which became 36-55 at the half.

The Rocks started to claw the game back in the third period as Julius Joseph finished a 10-2 burst with a three-pointer to leave them down by 58-65 going into the decisive stanza.

Once in the fourth the home side took the lead for the first time after a 9-0 push made it 70-69. With 3:00 remaining they had extended that lead to 78-71, only for Alto Virgil to inspire the Sharks to the win with 5 points in a 14-3 close to the game.
