Sheffield Sharks miserable March continued at the Sheffield Arena as they went down 83-92 against reigning champions Guildford Heat.

Sharks never recovered from trailing 15-24 at the end of the first quarter, which had been built by a Heat run of 16-2 between the fourth and ninth minute. Each side shot five threes in the second as Heat stretched out to 36-49.

Neither team could make much impression in the third quarter as Heat maintained their lead at 56-69 before Sharks trimmed the margin of defeat back into single figures during the fourth quarter.

Daniel Gilbert led all-scorers with 23 for the Heat supported by 21 each from EJ Harrison and Tony Dorsey. Shelby Chaney’s 19 paced the Sharks offence.
