The Marshall MK Lions got their 2007/8 BBL Championship campaign off to a winning start with a comfortable 115-94 victory over the PAWS London Capital at the Capital City Academy on Saturday evening.

The Lions exploded out of the blocks, and an early 8-0 burst in the opening period saw them take a 25-12 lead. The second quarter continued in much the same vein as the first, with the Lions continuing to extend their lead over their hosts, and held a commanding 65-43 lead at the half.

The third quarter saw the Lions continue to dominate, and a 15-2 burst took the score out to 92-54 towards the end of the period. The Lions enjoyed their biggest lead of the game in the final period at 103-68.

Yorrick Williams (pictured) led the Lions scoring with 26 points, while Wes Miller stole the show, netting an amazing 47 points on his debut for the home side.
